Members enjoy a chuckle and speakers, Jean MacDougall-Tattan and Susan Kane, discussing therapeutic massage and accupuncture as alternative pain management strategies.

An informal policy-sharing, networking meeting at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, NH, was hosted by Robin Nolan and Lynn Batchelder. Then HEHNA members enjoyed a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snowy woods.

10/29/2010 - Several HEHNA members attended the 1st Annual Northeast Safe Patient Handling Conference in Concord, NH. HEHNA President, Jessie King, gave an overview of our association and the benefits of membership. There were many excellent presenters and hands-on experience with patient handling equipment.

03/24/2010 - "Pandemic Lessons Learned" - Alfred DeMaria, Jr., MD
HEHNA members enjoyed an excellent presentation by Alfred DeMaria, Jr., M.D., Medical Director- Bureau of Infectious Disease Prevention, Response and Services and State Epidemiologist for Massachusetts. Dr. DeMaria also led us on a fascinating tour of the Public Health Museum, Tewksbury Hospital. HEHNA members, Nancy Clover and Marcia Nelson arranged the great venue, speaker and menu for us.

09/25/2009 - HEHNA members gathered in Portland, Maine
In need of some relaxation this flu-stressful season, first we met at "The Duck Stop" for a Duck Tour of Portland.
First to arrive, Jessie King began her day with a 'goose egg' (not a duck egg!) smack in the middle of her forehead by tripping at Dunkin Donuts! She provided her own excellent nursing care before other members arrived with attention and nursing input. She now reports no ill effects from the fall.

Here's a link to the "Official" Duck Tour photo of the group.

Angela Catalini (left), HEHNA President '07-'09, passes the 'gavel' to Jessie King, our new HEHNA President for '09-'11. (Check out that 'goose egg'!)

'Ida' warmed our hearts and tickled our funny-bones with her down-to-earth perspective on life in Maine.
Susan shared with us some of her insights and appreciation of resourceful Maine women. We learned how 'Ida' grew to represent the qualities of Maine women not shown in performances by male Maine humorists.
You can learn more about Susan and 'Ida' at www.poolyle.com
('Ida' is center with her hands on the 'yard art'! Marcia Nelson, who put in a lot of time arranging the luncheon and venue, is to the right of her, holding the wreath made of shoulder pads. Between them - in red - is Pat Fleming, now retired and an Honorary HEHNA Member. Pat was an active HEHNA member for many years, including service as HEHNA President, and we were happy to see her.)
