Healthcare Employee Health Nurses Association of New England
HEHNA was founded in 1980 by a group of Employee Health Nurses from New England hospitals. They named the new organization the Hospital Employee Health Nurses Association of New England or HEHNA.
Most of them came to Employee Health with no previous experience in this unique, challenging and often solitary nursing specialty. They banded together to form a network of support.
As HEHNA grew, nurses who worked for other healthcare facilities asked to join. We changed our name and the definition of our membership to embrace these new members. We now welcome others with an interest in healthcare employee health nursing.
WE WELCOME YOU TO JOIN US as we continue to grow and adapt!
