Healthcare Employee Health Nurses Association of New England
HEHNA (the Healthcare Employee Health Nurses Association of New England) is an association of and for nurses who work in Employee/ Occupational Health in healthcare facilities across New England, and others who share that interest.
We care for those who "work in one of the most diverse and hazardous environments on Earth. These hazards include patient lifting/positioning, and exposures to sharps (some carrying deadly pathogens), airborne and contact 'bugs', toxic/allergenic drugs and chemicals, lasers, noise, radiation, etc." (ACOEM)
Our mission is to foster mutual support and professional growth by sharing knowledge, resources, and educational opportunities among members.
"Please send my best wishes to each HEHNA member~ the best group I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Thank you for opportunities to grow and learn with HEHNA in the past 9 years! " - Janet Wheeler
"I found being a HEHNA member provided me with tremendous educational oppotunities relevant to my work. Of course I enjoyed the networking." - Susan Raymond
"I would like to thank a wonderful group of professionals who have been so friendly, open and beneficial for enhancing my knowledge of EH. I was able to attend because the HEHNA meetings occurred at noon which allowed for drive time. Your shared policies and email communication/ Q&As are a great benefit. I would encourage everyone to take advantage of this form of communicating, so EH practices and issues can be a made standard practice through this group’s participation and meeting." - Eilene Walburg
